Description
We have searched far and wide to find and test the most practical TENS units for tVNS. This is a good simulator unit for tVNS because:
- it is programmable with the required parameters.
- it is simple to use, and with programme lock unlikely to accidentally change settings.
- Easy to use buttons and a good range of fine adjustment.
We fit the 9V battery and pre-programme this unit for you so that all you have to do is fit the ear clip and turn the unit on and press the intensity buttons.
We will programme the device to a setting commonly used for transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation. The settings can be altered; please consult your health care practitioner for further advice about settings that may be appropriate for you.
To get you started we set:
- normal/constant mode
- frequency: 25Hz
- pulse width: 50uS
- timer: 30 minutes. NB: start with just 1-2 minutes to begin with.

The settings listed above are default and you or your health professional can easily change the settings at home or in the clinic at any time later. Please work with your health professional as required.
This device has a lot of programmes; to make the device more simple and foolproof, and eliminate accidental change of settings, we set the in-built programme lock. You can remove the lock at any time if you want to adjust the settings. The instructions for how to undo the lock and change settings are in the neurotrac manual.
To simplify the experience for tVNS users, we remove the gel pads as these are not needed for tVNS. If you are buying this TENS device for other uses, and want the original pads, please just let us know in the order comments, or contact us at the time of your order.
